The Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has called on supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to go out in numbers and cast their votes in the approaching September 19 governorship elections.

The PDP major candidate urged the electorates at Ward 9 in Egbedo, Akoko-Edo local government area of the state to vote for the movement in order to sustain the progress of his administration.

“I promise to ensure that every child in Edo will have a skill by the time they finish junior secondary school and be able to work,” said Obaseki. The governor also highlighted that they have initiated the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EDOBEST) programme from primary one to six and by next year they will focus on technical education to make sure that young people become effective and contribute to the development of the state.

“When I entered Government House, I observed that the way roads were built in the past was not the best, so we changed the system and put in place a maintenance mechanism to ensure the roads built by my administration stand the test of time,” he added.

He further noted that the elections will determine the future of the youths in the state, claiming that the power belongs to them. The people of Edo declared support for the governor’s re-election, and he was assured that he will get votes as he has done an exceptional job for the people of the state during his office.
