David Adeleke famously known as Davido is the first Nigerian musician to be recognized by the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) making history.
This happened at the first part of the virtual ceremony that was held on Monday evening the 3rd of August whilst broadcasted on Mzansi Magic.
The Nigerian music star and songwriter left the country proud following this recent win at what is considered South Africa’s biggest accolade in music, the SAMAs.
Davido’s album ‘A Good Time’ won the award under the ‘Rest of Africa’ category making him the first Nigerian to win a SAMA.
The album is highly successful as it keeps earning accolades left, right and centre. A few days ago the continent was celebrating the hit record being streamed over a billion times.
The album was released on the 22nd of November 2019 under Davido’s Music Worldwide (DMW), RCA Records and Sony music. Some of the artists that made a guest appearance are Summer Waker, Chris Brown and Gunna.
Congratulatory messages poured in for the Nigerian muso star for his big achievement, also the album is doing exceptionally well. Some of the congratulatory messages from Twitter are as follows…
