The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said his counterpart, Governor Godwin Obaseki betrayed the trust of the Edo people by failing to hold onto his polling assurances in the state.
Ize-Iyamu stated this while addressing people during his ward-to-ward campaign at Ogwa, Esan West, and Amahor, Igueben Local Government Areas of the state on Monday, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate misused his chances for re-election.
“The governor did nothing for Edo people for almost four years and does not deserve a second term because he will not work for the people,” he said.
The APC candidate appealed to the community residents to vote massively for his party to restore Edo to the path of growth. Furthermore, Ize-Iyamu assured to construct more roads and employ more teachers in the state.
“In the area of Manpower development, our women need more than wrappers, they need money to support their businesses,” he added. Meanwhile, the former national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole revealed that he withdrew his support for the PDP candidate because he failed to continue with the advancement of infrastructure he met on the ground.
He further noted that Obaseki failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the Edo people, which is one of the assurances he made during his electioneering campaign in 2016.
“Today, you are complaining of lack of good roads, no teachers, no water because he failed to continue with my work,” said Oshiomhole.
